The former president, Jerry John Rawlings says rumour making rounds that his mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui has died is false.
A statement from the Office of the Former President signed by the head of the Communications Directorate Kobina Andoh Amoakwa has therefore asked the general public to disregard the reports.
Though the former president’s mother is advanced in age, it said the old lady is healthy and strong.

“The office of former President Jerry John Rawlings has taken note of an unfortunate rumour making the rounds about Madam Victoria Agbotui, mother of the former President.
“Madam Agbotui is alive, hale and hearty,” the statement said.
Madam Agbotui who hails from Dzelukope in the Volta Region would be 100 years in September.
